HP has announced several updates to its range of cloud-focused laptops, the Stream 11.6 and 13.3, including new colours, lighter form factors and longer battery life.

The Streams’ new design include fanless chassis with an Intel Celeron processor and 32 GB of eMMC flash memory on the inside which allows for quiet operation and quick load times, HP said.

On the outside, there’s new colour options: Cobalt Blue and Violet Purple.

“Last year HP created a very successful new category of cloud-based PCs when we introduced the HP Stream, giving customers a colourful, thin and light PC at an affordable price,” said HP’s director of consumer products, Louis Perrin. “Today we are excited to offer the second generation of these PCs with improved battery with like Hp 510 battery, Hp 530 battery, Hp 440266-ABC battery, Hp HSTNN-FB40 battery, Hp EliteBook 8530P battery, Hp EliteBook 8540P battery, Hp EliteBook 8730P battery, Hp HSTNN-LB60 battery, Hp HSTNN-OB60 battery, Hp KU533AA battery, Hp HSTNN-CB0D battery, Hp HSTNN-I70C batterylife, Windows 10 optimisation and bold new colours.”

HP said the Stream notebooks offer value-added services customers and include a free cloud storage for instant access and sharing of content with 1 TB of Microsoft OneDrive for one year, Office 365 Personal for one year to edit, share or collaborate on word docs in real time, and 60 Skype minutes per month.

The new 11.6in HP Stream weighs 1.18kg, offers up to 10.5 hours of battery life, and is expected to be available in the UK in October starting at £179.99. The 13.3in model weighs 1.55kg, claims to achieve up to 8.5 hours of battery life and is expected to be available in the UK in October starting at £199.
