Dell’s $900 Chromebook 13 Is Built for Business
Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the dell laptop battery
Dell is trying out the high-end Chromebook category with an opulent Chromebook 13 it introduced Thursday, which will cost up to $900.
Chromebooks have taken off as low-priced, low-powered laptops for primary education and casual computing—they’re basically just self-reliant Web browsers. The only Chromebook that’s gone the powerful and expensive route, so far, is Google’s own $1,000 Chromebook Pixel, but it’s something of a misfit. Dell says its new Chromebook 13 has real purpose, tailored for use in the enterprise.
It takes advantage of a forthcoming update to Google’s with battery such as dell 5208U battery, dell Inspiron 3700 battery, dell G5345 battery, dell Inspiron 1300 battery, dell Inspiron B120 battery, dell KD186 battery, dell Inspiron 5150 battery, dell Precision M20 battery, dell Precision M4300 battery, dell Latitude D531 battery, dell Precision M65 battery, dell Precision M60 batteryChrome OS (available across all Chromebooks), which provides several enterprise-friendly features. Chromebooks finally get reliable VPN support, a necessity for corporate security. New IT enhancements include compatibility with Web-based virtualization software that’ll let Chromebook users run Windows apps.
Dell says the Chromebook 13 is a potent enough machine to survive life as a business laptop.
It will have a 720p camera built above a 13.3-inch 1080p display. Instead of the plastic found encasing almost every inch of most Chromebooks, the Dell Chromebook 13 has a body made of aluminum, magnesium and carbon fiber, and a glass trackpad.
The top-of-the-line $900 model uses a Core i5 processor and has 8GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a Gorilla Glass touchscreen. Dell and Google showed off this model connected to a super-wide 34-in. monitor (see below), running virtual versions Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office.
Dell will also sell two step-down models with the same look and feel: the $650 version with a Core i3 processor, 32GB of storage and the same touchscreen, and an entry-level $400 with no touchscreen, powered by a low-grade Intel Celeron processor.
Dell says to expect at least 12 hours of battery life across all models, potentially longer with the lower-powered models.
All variants of the Dell Chromebook 13 will go on sale September 17.
