Someone attended a McDowell Road East, Charlotteville address between Saturday and Tuesday and gained entry into an unlocked barn located on the property.
An an all terrain vehicle (ATV), MotoMaster battery charger and Karcher power washer with a 5.5 horsepower Honda motor with various accessories were removed. The ATV is described as a yellow and black coloured 2012 Can-Am DS90X.
Prescription medicine theft
A quantity of morphine sulphate tablets were removed from a Norfolk County Highway 24 East, Charlotteville address on Tuesday.
Norfolk County OPP were contacted by a concerned resident after unknowns entered their residence with battery such as Karcher 2.891-029.0 Battery, Karcher RC3000 Battery, Dyson DC16 Battery, Dyson 912433-01 Battery, Dyson 917083-01 Battery, Dyson DC31 Battery, Samsung Navibot SR8840 Battery, Samsung Navibot SR8895 Battery, Samsung Navibot VCR8855 Battery, Samsung VC-RE70V Battery, Samsung VCA-RBT20 Battery, Samsung DJ96-00113C Battery, Himedia Q5II 3D Blue-ray ISO SATA Tv Boxat approximately 6 p.m. The Norfolk County OPP Detachment is continuing to investigate and is seeking assistance from the public.
Publishing Clearing House Scam
Norfolk County OPP has received calls from concerned residents that received a phone call from an unknown male claiming that they had won a large sum of money.
Police say the caller claims they are calling from the Publishing Clearing House and that they would like to attend the home owner's address. The unknown caller then proceeds to provide the first few digits of a debit or credit card number and then asks for personal and financial information so that all the details on the cheque can be filled out.
Police are reminding residents if you have provided your personal or financial information and suspect that it has been used and misappropriated to commit fraud or theft, take action immediately and keep a record of your conversations and correspondence.
“Each and every person plays a crucial role in combating identity theft. We need everyone to ensure that they secure and protect their personal and financial information,” Norfolk OPP Inspector Zvonko Horvat said in a release.
If you have received a phone call from someone claiming to be from Publishing Clearing House informing you that you won a large sum of money and are asking for personal or financial information, please contact the Canadian Anti- Fraud Centre (1-888-495-8501) to report it antifraudcentre.ca.
